blassrot records
With the aim of creating a platform for releasing music that could also grow into a network and a close-knit community, trumpeter and composer Lars Töpperwien founded the label ‘blassrot records’ in 2024. The label’s musical focus is on contemporary improvised music. All albums are released in curated editions that bring together diverse, individual artistic perspectives.
blassrot Edition II
The debut albums by the three ensembles Space in Between, SMURD and Pascal Jarchow Trio make up the label’s current edition, blassrot edition II. They were released digitally via Bandcamp in November 2025. Since March 2026, blassrot edition II has also been available physically on CD / vinyl. In collaboration with the musicians, the Berlin-based artist Mathias Manglus created a series of prints that give the albums their visual identity. The graphic design was handled by Lena Gröner. Blassrot edition II was mastered by Rashad Becker.
blassrot Edition I
blassrot edition I presents the debut albums of trumpeter, composer and blassrot founder Lars Töpperwien. His Bandproject Lars Töpperwien Septett, working around improvised music and spoken word, was featured with its debut Monolog der Einsamen. His Soloalbum close my brother´s eyes marks the starting point of his Solowork. blassrot edition I was recorded, mixed and mastered by Laura Picerno. Artworks and Design by Annika Horn.
